Oscar-winner and music director of international reputation, ARRehman is set to storm in the film industry with Kannada Upendra'sGodfather. This was confirmed by the Director-bw Sriram, whoreceived a confirmation e-mail from the maestro. Bw Sriram,Varalaru cameraman, a director in the Kannada version.
Godfather star Upendra, Soundaraya Jayamala, Simran andBhumika in the lead roles. K. Manju is the producer of Godfather,Kannada remake of the 2006 super hit Varalaru (Tamil), whichstarred Ajithkumar, Asin and Kanihaa. A.R. Rehman was themusical director. Interestingly, A.R. Rehman did not repeat themelody Varalaru, he again won six songs in Kannada Godfather.Varalaru had nine songs, all written by Vairamuthu.
In Sajani (Kannada), starring Sharmila Mandre and Dhyan, songsfrom the original film were used Rehman. Godfather says that hisfirst official entry into the sandalwood. The singers will be chosenby A.R. Rehman. Anand Audio has signed an agreement on theaudio rights.
Interestingly, A.R. Rehman's career began in Karnataka. He worked in the great composers G.K. Venkatesh, Vijayanand andHamsalekha as an operator keyboard.
