Get The Look: Bryce Dallas Howard at Eclipse Premiere

CHANEL Celebrity Makeup Artist Kate Lee worked with Bryce Dallas Howard at the Los Angeles premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse on Thursday, June 24th. Follow Kate's tips below to steal Bryce's modern classic Hollywood look.

"Bryce's skin is milky perfection and her hair a deep auburn, so I wanted to avoid doing the expected, and decided to go for a bold lip. Her skin was prepped with CHANEL Hydramax + Active Serum, and then I applied a mineral foundation. Her cheeks were CHANEL Powder Blush in Imprévu, which is a great mix of rose and bronze. I lined the eyes with the new CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Clair, and then went over the top with a pale pearlescent peach shadow from the new CHANEL Quadra Eye Shadow in Enigma to reflect the light. I then applied two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir. On her lips I used CHANEL Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Cambon which I matted down into a stain. I used the clear CHANEL Brow Shaper to set her brows in place, and then off she went to the craziest premiere of the year! The fans had been camping out for a few nights already!"

For her winning red carpet coiff, star stylist David Babaii created a relaxed, Bridget Bardot inspired look. Luminous waves highlighted her luxurious titian-colored hair as it was pulled back on each side, accented with a subtle beehive with shiny, healthy beautiful hair cascading sensually down her back. Babaii released several strands to strategically fall forward and frame Bryce's face for a modern 60's effect.

David Babaii Explains How To Get The Look:

"I prepared Bryce's hair by applying a small amount of argan oil-infused original Moroccanoil Treatment on damp hair before blow-drying to condition, strengthen and protect strands from the heat of the curling iron as well as to eliminate any sign of frizz or static. It absorbs instantly and speeds my blow-drying time so I can concentrate on styling. I love using Moroccanoil Treatment with flat or curling irons when I work because the hair becomes even better conditioned and healthier.

"Once the hair was dry, I applied Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream to the palm of my hands then randomly finger-combed sections of the hair for natural looking hold. After making a center part, I used a curling iron to form loose, flowing waves that were easy to work and to tuck behind the ears. I then gently teased the hair at the crown to create a suggestion of a Bardot bee-hive, pinned the sides, and left a soft cascade of gorgeous hair flowing down her back. Next, I lightly misted Bryce's hair using Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray for an extra boost of natural-looking shine to reflect her beautiful color, especially in the bright lights on the red carpet. It was important to me to give the hair a luminous, ethereal look, and perfect condition and lustre was essential.

"To hold the hair in place without compromising on shine or movement, I finished the style with new Moroccanoil Luminous Hair Spray, which is blended with Moroccanoil's exclusive argan oil-infused formula. It sprays on in a soft, diffused mist and I love how touchable the hair feels, as well as so moveable with long-lasting hold that lasts all night long."

Grammy Gorgeous: Nicole Kidman

Celebrity hairdresser David Babaii created this romantic and elegant up-do to emphasize Nicole's beautiful bone structure and Prada dress design.

He began by spraying her entire head with David Babaii for WildAid Bohemian Beach Spray, scrunching into her hair for body, lift and texture. Next, he dried her hair using a large round brush concentrating on the root area for maximum lift. Once dry, he divided tresses into 4 sections (top, sides and back leaving the nape area free). Using the H2Pro 300SE Styling Iron, he created "ribbon curls" by taking small "V" shaped partings. To achieve, wrap the hair around and inside the styling iron close to the scalp area and pull the iron down (similar to curling ribbon).

After curling the entire head, he applied some David Babaii for WildAid Hair Polish into his hands, using his fingers to loosen the curls from the mid-section to the ends only. This is done as to not disturb the texture at the top and crown area. Next, he carefully created a side part and again using his fingers to gently roll and twist hair. Pick up large sections as you continue to circle to the other side of the head and pin where needed. Finish into a messy bun and secure with additional pins. At the top area finger comb the bang area into a natural falling wave. For a long but natural lasting hold, he used David Babaii for WildAid Mise en Plis Light Styling Spray.

Oscars 2009 Beauty: Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie looked stunning in a black strapless Elie Saab gown paired with beautiful emerald-colored jewels which added a striking burst of color. Celebrity makeup artist Mary Burton created Angelina’s flawless look.

Mary applied Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl in Black Ebony to the upper and lower lash lines. She emphasized the shape of Angelina’s eyes by applying more liner to the outer corners of the eye. Several coats of Lancôme Ôscillation Mascara were applied to the upper lashes for added volume and length. Mary put a touch of pink to the cheeks using Shu Uemura Blush in M Pink 31 and applied it to her cheekbones near the temple. To create ultra-shiny and luminous lips, Mary used Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Spring Fling.

To achieve Angelina's romantic cascade of curls, celebrity hairstylist David Babaii "sprayed Angie’s entire head with David Babaii for WildAid Bohemian Beach Spray and scrunched it into the hair (this gives just the right texture and hold)."

"Next, I dried her hair by dividing her tresses into 3 sections: top, sides and back leaving the nape area free. Taking small sections starting at the nape, I used the David Babaii for WildAid Blow Dryer with the nozzle attachment and finish the drying process with a large round brush to smooth hair straight. At the crown area, I sprayed David Babaii for WildAid Volcanic Ash Root Amplifier to the root area and down the hair shaft. Then, I dried this section with a jumbo round brush to add lift and volume."

"Once dry, I sectioned the hair again using the same sectioning process as I did for blow drying. Using the David Babaii for WildAid Styling Iron, I once again sectioned the hair into 3 sections: top, sides and back leaving the nape area free. To curl, use the Styling Iron to create “ribbon curls” by taking small “V” shaped sections. To achieve, I wrapped the hair around and inside the styling iron close to the scalp area and pull the iron down (similar to curling ribbon)."

"After curling the entire head, I smoothed some of the curls with a brush while leaving some intact. At the crown area, I back-brushed the hair at the scalp area only, sprayed some additional Volcanic Ash Root Amplifier and gently smoothed the surface not to remove too much of the back-brushing. Next, to create her half-up, half down look, I brushed the sides up and back and secured with pins. To complete the back, I ran my fingers up several curls to create volume and variations in texture. For a long but natural lasting hold, I used David Babaii for WildAid Mise en Plis Light Styling Spray."

Styling Tip: Why so much sectioning? It is vital to have constant control of your hair at all times. You will never miss an area or a section.

Oscars 2009 Beauty: Nicole Kidman

Beauty Inspiration:
"When I asked Nicole what we wanted to do for the Oscars, she told me she just wanted to look beautiful," said makeup artist Angela Levin. "So I decided to go for basic, beautiful makeup that shows who she is - an unbelievable beauty, timeless and glamorous. Her look was pure and gorgeous, just as it should be for the 81st Academy Awards."

Beauty Tips:
Angela prepped Nicole's skin with he favorite skin care product, Chanel Hydramax + Active Moisture Boost Cream. On her eyes, she used the sultry shades from the Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow in Reflets d'Ombre. Several coats of Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Noir-Black were applied to create a glamorous, modern eye. She applied Chanel Blush Duo Tweed Effect in Tweed Rose on Nicole's cheekbones. For an added flawless effect, Angela used Chanel Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Translucent 1 all over Nicole's face. To create a sophisticated, glossy wine coloured lip, she applied CHANEL Aqualumiere Gloss in Bubble Plum.

Celebrity hairstylist David Babaii says that Nicole's Oscar look "was all about glamorizing the bob."

"After thoroughly towel drying, I applied David Babaii for WildAid Amplifying Whipped Mousse for volume and hold. I dried the hair by dividing it into 3 sections: top, sides and back leaving the nape area free. Creating small sections, start at the nape and use the David Babaii for WildAid Blow Dryer with the nozzle attachment. I dried each section with a medium round brush to smooth and create a soft round bend to the ends. Once again, section the hair into 3 sections: top with a side part, sides and back leaving the nape area free."

"To create waves, I formed “V” shaped pieces and use the David Babaii for WildAid Styling Iron. I then ran the styling iron down the hair shaft from close to the roots to the ends to create a sleek, smooth look. Then I repeated, half way down the hair shaft utilize the beveled edge by turning the styling iron (like a curling iron) to create a soft curl."

"I clipped each curl and sprayed with David Babaii for WildAid Mise en Plis Light Styling Spray. I then alternated the direction of each row of curls in order to achieve a finger wave effect. When finished, gently brush and form into soft waves using my David Babaii for WildAid Mise en Plis Light Styling Spray for a soft long lasting hold. To finish, I brushed back one side and secured with a decorative hair pin."

Styling Tip: Use “V” shaped sections helps to eliminate the appearance of partings.

Words From The Wise: David Babaii’s Tips For Taming Unruly Bangs

Welcome to Words From The Wise, Spoiled Pretty’s new weekly advice column!

Spoiled Pretty is consulting with some of the biggest names in the biz - to answer your burning beauty questions. So get out your steno pad and sharpen your #2 pencil. The pros are about to drop some knowledge. Prepare to get schooled.

Spoiled Pretty reader, Amanda, writes:

"My hair question has to do with my unruly bangs. What products do you recommend I use in the morning to get them nice and side-swept, just like I came out of the salon? I just can't seem to get it right."

David Babaii, celebrity hair stylist (his client list includes Kate Hudson, Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Gwyneth Paltrow) and co-founder of David Babaii for WildAid, shares these tips for controlling bothersome bangs:

“To tame those wild bangs, wet your bangs only and spray a small amount of David Babaii for WildAid Bohemian Beach Spray at the roots and on the hair shaft. With a round brush and your David Babaii for WildAid Blow Dryer on medium heat, blow dry the roots first to add volume brushing hair in the opposite direction of your natural part to create movement. When hair is mostly dry, hold the brush vertically and wrap your bangs around it towards the side where you want your hair to be parted. Point the blow dryer down and aim a blast of hot air on the brush to smooth the hair cuticle and set the slight wave in your hair. Continue to blow dry and pull hair to the side until you're satisfied. Finish with a small amount of David Babaii for WildAid Hair Polish on the ends to separate and add definition.”

David isn’t just generous with advice…he’s also gifting Amanda with David Babaii for WildAid Bohemian Beach Spray, Hair Dryer and Hair Polish - so that she can achieve salon results at home!

Many thanks to David Babaii for his invaluable beauty tips and for spoiling Amanda pretty!
