Kim Kardashian and Lauren Conrad to Judge America's Next Top Model

Remember how I told you that Kim Kardashian would appear on Cycle 13 of America's Next Top Model, as a guest judge?

Well, the episode air date has now been revealed. Kim fans, set your DVR for October 21st...when Kim will sit alongside Tyra, Miss Jay Alexander and Nigel Barker.

It has also been leaked that Lauren Conrad will take a turn as a guest judge. Look for her on the September 16th eppy of ANTM. I predict that the elimination challenge will have something to do with LC's clothing line for Kohl's, which hits stores this fall.

Kim Kardashian To Judge America's Next Top Model

I love when my favorite things collide. It's a rare opportunity for me to focus.

Today on her blog, Kim Kardashian revealed that she will be a guest judge on Cycle 13 (the shorties' season) of ANTM.

Recently I was a guest judge on America's Next Top Model for an episode that will air next season! Wow, this cycle is pretty amazing! It's definitely my favorite so far! Can't give away any details but you guys have to tune in for sure!

It was such an honor to be a guest judge! I have watched this show for years and am such a huge Tyra Banks
fan! She is such a smart business woman and such a role model! Love ya Tyra!

By the looks of Miss Jay's ensemble, I'm guessing that this is the episode where there are seven models left in the competition.

Tyra Looking For Some Shorties For America's Next Top Model, Cycle 13

The number 13 may be considered unlucky to some...but for aspiring short models, it may just be a blessing.

For the first time in America’s Next Top Model history, Tyra Banks announces that girls must be 5'7" and under to qualify for cycle 13 of the hit reality show.

Typically, ANTM requires that contestants meet a minimum height requirement of 5’7” – matching the industry standard. But next time around, Tyra is searching for shorties, ages 18 to 27, of diverse backgrounds, shapes and sizes.

"There have been top supermodels in the past that weren’t as tall as the industry demands, like fashion icon Kate Moss," said Tyra. "So we are changing up Top Model for cycle 13 and making it a year for the shorter model!”

Why Is Clay Aiken Judging America's Next Top Model?

According to Usmagazine.com, Clay Aiken will appear on America's Next Top Model Cycle 12. And get this...he's going to be a judge!

Clay will work with the aspiring models in an acting challenge, then will critique their performances during the panel session when one of the models is eliminated.

Clay judging an acting challenge? Tyra, you so crazy! Wouldn't it be more apropos if Clay taught the contestants how to apply pancake makeup?

The new season of ANTM premieres February 25th.

Thank You For Believing In Me, Tyra

Remember Jade from America's Next Top Model, Cycle 6? Peep this recent pic I recently surfed upon.

She's looking fierce, right? Well...in an Asian Tina Turner Studio 54 tranny-esque kinda way.

And while we're on the topic, check out the ad for ANTM, Cycle 11 that appears in the September issue of Vogue.

The new season premieres September 3rd on the CW.

ANTM Cycle 10: New Faces. New Attitude. New York.

Though Tyra Banks retired from modeling in 2005, she is Entertainment Weekly’s newest cover girl. In the accompanying article, the “mogul in the making” talks about America’s Next Top Model, her daytime talk show, and her growing multi-media empire.

In 2003, when Tyra and ANTM executive producer Ken Mok were throwing around the idea of a reality modeling competition, the industry didn’t take her seriously. The show finally found a home on UPN, but Tyra wasn’t confident that it would catch on.

''I thought it was going to last for two seasons,'' says Tyra. ''Around season 5, I said, 'Ken, how far can we go — 8?' He goes, 'I'm thinking 10.' Now we're at 10 and not stopping.''

Cycle 10 of ANTM
debuted last night and it managed to suck me in already. It’s the same show that we know and love, with a few minor twists. First, the show was moved back to New York City, New York, after being filmed in Los Angeles since Cycle 4. The number of contestants was also increased to 14, after Tyra deemed 13 to be “an unlucky number.” Finally, Twiggy has been replaced by Czech supermodel Paulina Porizkova…which is interesting, given the fact that one of the contestants is Porizkova’s doppelganger; I wonder if this will hurt or help her chances.

One hour really isn’t enough time to get to know this new group of wannabe’s – but I’ve got my eye on a few.

Fatima is an Iman look alike, with a painful past. Claire is a new mom who’s got that high-fashion, ugly/beautiful thing going on. Like Jaslene (winner of season 8), Dominique is striking – in a drag queen-ish kinda way. And Ivy League educated Katarzyna looks poised to take the cycle 10 title.

Did you watch last night’s eppy? Who do you think the front-runners will be?

ANTM and Project Runway Join Forces - So Fierce!

Project Runway and America’s Next Top Model are two of my absolute favorite reality shows. So imagine my delight to learn that there was a strong ANTM showing at the Project Runway finale at New York Fashion Week!

Jaslene Gonzalez, winner of Cycle 8, walked in the Jillian Lewis show. While Danielle Evans, winner of Cycle 6, and Bianca Golden modeled dresses from Chris March’s collection.

I met Bianca later that afternoon, but had no idea why she was there. Now I know.

And bravo to Bravo for employing so many minority models for the Project Runway finale.

If you’re impatient, like me, and can’t wait to see the final collections – click here. Who do you think is going to win? I have some predictions, but I'm anxious to hear your opinions. I know many of you are fans - so talk to me. Don't be shy. Leave a comment below.

I'm An ANTM Magnet!

Friday at the tents, I'm sitting on a bench - just minding my own...then out of the corner of my eye, I spy Bianca from Cycle 9 of America's Next Top Model!!!

What is going on with me? In the span of one week, I run into Nigel Barker and Bianca?!?!?

She was there with another striking woman who looked very familiar, but I couldn't place her face. Only after they left did the lightbulb go off. The other woman was Nyabel from The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency.

Damn, I'm short.

Fashion Week Take Three: Daneen Is America’s Next Top Model

On Saturday afternoon, I was supposed to report from backstage at Alexandre Herchcovitch. But due to some mix-up (aka – not so nice people at the press check-in table), Spoiled Pretty was denied. Don't be fooled by the photos above; the backstage atmosphere at Herchcovitch was anything but peaceful. I resisted the urge to yell, “Don’t you know who I am?” - because clearly they did not. So I licked my wounds and headed outside to sulk.

While sitting on a bench, trying to compose myself and re-strategize, I noticed a familiar (albeit Adonis-esque) visage heading my way. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear? None other than “noted fashion photographer," Nigel Barker – of America’s Next Top Model fame.

Y’all know what an ANTM fanatic I am – so you can imagine how star- and dumbstruck I was to be breathing the same air as Nigel. I momentarily lost my ability to speak. But then my adrenaline kicked in, and I managed to squeak out a request for a photo – to which he happily obliged.

If this photo looks a little odd, it’s because I had to color correct the pic. The original had me looking extremely washed out. It could be an indication that I need to invest in a better quality digital camera. But I like to think it’s because the heavens were smiling on me.

Models And Mangoes

Tonight’s episode of America’s Next Top Model entitled, “The Girl Who Gets A Mango,” had its fair share of famous faces - including the delectable Tyson Beckford and Miss Mary J.

But for me, the most exciting guest appearance was that of Lisa Price, creator of Carol’s Daughter, who founded the brand in her Brooklyn kitchen.

In honor of tonight’s eppy, it’s my pleasure to introduce you to a new product from Carol’s Daughter - Mango Mélange Shea Body Lotion. A luxurious blend of 15% shea butter, this moisturizer absorbs quickly and penetrates deeply to hydrate, condition, moisturize, soften and nourish dry skin for an ultra healthy glow.

And how cute was Saleisha when she was begging for some Carol’s Daughter leftovers?

Monochrome Models

Yesterday, the New York Times ran an astute piece about the lack of diversity among fashion models. Despite the fact that 30 percent of Americans are non-white, and although African American women in the U.S. spend more than $20 billion on apparel each year, ethnic faces have been few and far between on the runways of New York, London, Paris, and Milan; they are even more noticeably absent in magazine fashion editorials.

Jezebel.com took a thorough look at the October issues of nine of the largest American women's fashion/service magazines, and found that that black models are far more common in advertisements than fashion editorials; their report is quite alarming:

Black Models In Advertisements, October 2007:

In the wake of New York fashion week, fashion photographer and ANTM judge Nigel Barker was reported as saying, "Everyone is always talking about the weight issue, I think they should be talking about race."

You Ate My Granola Bars, So I Threw Out Your Red Bulls

Remember Bre from Cycle 5 of ANTM? The one who dumped out all of Nicole's Red Bulls because someone ate her granola bars? Don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, Bre's a Ford Model now - and in the video below, she demonstrates how to apply blush in a 'high fashion way' and how to achieve a more natural look. Enjoy!

Model Behavior

For over 60 years, Ford Models, a global leader in modeling talent, has made millions of dollars turning models into household names. Now Ford is helping regular folks, like us, look like a million bucks.

Released earlier this year, Ford Models TV, is a collection of short videos featuring beauty secrets, fitness tips, modeling lessons, and fashion reports from models and industry professionals.

I don’t know about you, but I’m excited. This is exactly the fix I need to hold me over between episodes of America’s Next Top Model (cycle 9 premieres September 19th).

Catch Ford Models TV on the Ford Models Media website and on YouTube.

Below, Ford Artists' Fatima Olive walks through Sephora and chooses the products right for model Shannon.
