Get The Look: Nikki Reed at Eclipse Premiere

Makeup artist Fiona Stiles created Nikki Reed's red carpet look for last night's Los Angeles premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. On her blog, Fiona writes:

"Nikki's Marchesa dress was so beautiful and feminine we went for a soft etherial look, with just a touch of girlish color on the lips. I prepped her skin with moisturizer and then a thin layer of Orlane's Eclat Absolut for a soft glow. I used a light application of foundation and a dusting of loose powder before adding a little rosy color to the cheeks, just a touch to keep it sweet. I wanted to have a light, easy eye, so I used a very light pink shadow, up just past the crease in the eye, with a little of a lavender grey over it for depth, then popped a little of the light pink into the corners of the eyes to add a little light to the face. Instead of liner I used a creamy taupe color from Ellis Faas (one of my new favorite products) near the lashes for a softer definition, then a little mascara on the top and bottom to finish it off the eyes. A matte pink lipstick gave the look an easy sweetness."

Skin Prep:
Yonka Pampelmousse moisturizer
Orlane éclat Absolu (for luminosity)

Foundation:
Armani Luminous Silk #7

Powder:
Chantecaille Loos Powder in "Ray"

Blush:
Jouer Mineral Blush in "Rose"

Eyes:
Cle de Peau Satin Eye Eolor #114
Jouer "Parfait" eyeshadow
Ellis Faas "Creamy Eyes #E107"
Lancome Virtouse Mascara in Black
Anastasia Brow Pencil in "Brunette"

Lips:
Lipstick Queen "Pink Sinner" lipstick

Oscars 2009 Beauty: Diane Lane

For the 81st annual Academy Awards, makeup artist Rachel Goodwin dressed Diane Lane's beautiful face in products from Chanel.

Beauty Inspiration:
"The first thing I noticed when I saw Diane was her va va voom black dress! I wanted her makeup to be super sexy and stong, like she is. Because it was the Oscars, I focused on bumping up the eyes with lots of mascara and lashes, and sent her down the carpet glowing and gorgeous."

Beauty Tips:
Rachel opened up Diane's eyes with browns and taupes from the Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow in Demure. She created a sultry look with soft browns in the crease and a soft ivory on the lids up to the brow bone. The eyes were lined with an Elizabeth Arden smoky eye pencil, and several coats of Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Noir-Black gave her a dramatic, seductive look. To
give Diane's skin a dewy, glowing look, Rachel applied Chanel Teint Innocence Naturally Luminous Fluid Makeup mixed with a bit of Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer. On the contours of the cheeks, she applied a peach cream blush from Jouer. Finally, to complete the strong, sexy look, Rachel gave Diane a bold orangey red lip with Chanel Hydrabase Lipstick in Fuego.

SAG Awards Beauty: America Ferrera

This year at the 15th Annual SAG Awards, America Ferrera’s makeup was inspired by her Vera Wang beige chiffon gown. Makeup artist Linda Hay wanted America's makeup to have a fresh and romantic feel, yet very modern to compliment the gentle nature of her dreamy gown - so she decided on a very simple eye, a peachy cheek and a deep red lip.

Linda began creating her look by lightly evening out America’s complexion using YSL's Touche Eclat where necessary, around the eyes, the nose and the corners of the mouth, followed by a light dusting of powder. She then applied Shu Uemura’s "Peche" directly to the apple of the cheek for a fresh, youthful look.

For the eyes, she drew a fine line on the top eyelid with Jouer Eye Definer in Mure. Using a large flat eye brush, Linda gently swept a shimmering white shadow from Cle de Peau #14 Eye Color Quad, across the entire lid, up and into the brow. With a smaller pointed eye brush she lined the silver shadow from the same palette to the bottom lid and from the inside corner to the outside corner of the eye. The inside of the eye was lined with Jouer Eye Clarifier in Clair. Finally, Linda applied three generous coats of Chanel mascara to both top and bottom lashes. The brow was strong and well defined using Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Kit. On the Lips, Linda used MAC Viva Glam Lipstick.

Golden Globes Gorgeous: America Ferrera

This Year for the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards, nominee America Ferrera, walked the red carpet with makeup designed by Linda Hay.

“Inspired by America’s effortlessly chic Oscar de la Renta dress, I kept her look sweet and simple,” said celebrity make-up artist, Linda Hay. Linda used Jouer’s Age Repairing Brightener around the eye and on the nose to illuminate America’s eyes. “The skin, I kept as sheer as possible by using as little as possible. I like to cover whatever's required without over doing it because America has beautiful skin,” Linda said. On the cheeks, using finger-tip application, Linda applied Jouer’s Lip and Cheek Tint in Amaryllis, a sheer warm read which blended in to compliment America’s skin tone. "On her eyes, I applied a light and sheer shimmer all over the lid and inner corner of the eye, with a metallic silver shadow in the crease." Using a black pencil, Linda applied a thin, defined line right above her lashes. Linda applied three coats of Dior Blackout Mascara to America’s eyes to make them pop.

Golden Globes Gorgeous: Freida Pinto

Makeup artist, Jeffrey Paul created a fresh, sunkissed look with Jouer cosmetics for Slumdog Millionaire’s Freida Pinto at the Golden Globes.

Freida’s radiant natural beauty and flawless skin tone was the inspiration behind Jeffrey Paul’s red carpet look. He used his distinctive technique to enhance Freida’s natural beauty and encourage her true character to emerge. Jeffrey wanted Freida’s natural beauty to be the focal point of her overall look, so he decided to go with a subtle palette of shimmering pinks, champagne and gold - to accentuate her flawless skin and natural glow. He wanted her look to be soft, fresh and easy.

To re-create Freida’s radiant red carpet look:

Eyes: Jeffrey used a thick green liner with flecks of gold. He smudged Jouer Eye Definer in Vert very close to the lashes to frame her eyes, The soft green color complimented her eye coloring while the gold flecks in the liner tied the look together. For additional color, he added Jouer Eyeshadow in Amaretto in the crease of the eyelid to add definition and blended with a soft brush. Jouer Conditioning Mascara in Noir was used on both the top and bottom lashes to show off Freida’s long thick lashes.

Skin: To get Freida’s sunkissed look, Jeffrey mixed together foundation and concealer and only used on key spots to blend outward for a soft effect. Jouer Crème Highlighter was used on the brow bone and cheek bones to add additional definition and shimmer.

Lips: Jeffrey finished the look using the Jouer Crème Highlighter matched with Jouer Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Monsoon. The golden tone of the highlighter accentuated the natural pink color of her lips while the sheer deep wine gloss was the perfect compliment.
