My Latest MAC Purchase: You'll Be Green With Envy

Today, after attending the Cashman & Associates Girls’ Day Out event, Mama Spoiled Pretty and I headed over to Macy’s for some extra innings of shopping. Mom was kinda working my last nerve, shopping up a storm, then asking me (aka telling me) to carry her heavy bags. But then she spotted a $180 Michael Kors dress - in my size - for $9. Can you even believe? So all was forgiven and Philadelphia has since been re-named the City of Motherly Love. Anyway, despite saving $171 on the dress, it still wasn’t my most satisfying purchase of the day.
Before mom and I headed for the petites department, we stopped at the MAC counter and had a ball playing with the makeup. At first, mom was all, “What do you need more MAC makeup for?” Obviously, I did not inherit my product addiction from my mother. But after watching me get all done up, thanks to the talented and knowledgeable MAC makeup artist Jillian, she too was bitten by the MAC bug. Jillian gave her a very sophisticated smoky eye and mom ended up buying both of the shadows Jillian used - Nehru (muted bluish black) and Knight Divine (black w/ silver pearl).
For my fabulous purchase (you’re going to be green with envy), watch the video:

MAC Halloween 2008

Halloween is just a few weeks away. Do you know what you'll be this year? Why resort to cliches like 'scary witch' or 'sexy nurse' when MAC has ten Halloween inspired face charts with step-by-step instructions? Behold...the power of makeup.

Amphibian: A cool blue pool of shimmery aqua-reflections create your water sprite look. Float through the parade. Do the Wave.

Night Bloom: Fantasy blooms at midnight. Beautiful and expressive. This exotic floral arrangement will likely attract a few B's (that's boys).

Colour Spill: Colourful, minimal, abstract, modern, this Colour Spill loves to hang out where art's the thing. If this is your canvas, your best accessory might be a frame.

Tronika: Part Robot, with a glimpse of Human, Tronika shows she's hard-wired for Halloween techno-glamour.

Tribal: A striking mask of universal symbols. For all those new-age tribalists who consider Halloween a ritual.

She's A Doll: Wide-eyed and with apple cheeks! A dolly mix of cutie and sweetie. Adorable!

Woody: A natural beauty. A woodsy nymph. Adroitly drawn lines in earthy organic tones articulate the look of wood. A tree-mendous look for eco-girls and -boys.

Space Diva: She comes from Out There. Her glittering metallic spaced-out looks make her a sexy, enigmatic rave at any Halloween party.

Skull Meister: Mr. Bones has nothing to hide - and dares you to expose your finest features - in ghoulish black and white. The ultimate shape and contour: X-ray style.

Play The Fool: With a little face painting, elements of this Renaissance harlequin prepare you for a mad-happy night of clowning around.

Ken Paves Healthy Hair Boost Up Color Drops
As soon as I heard about Ken Paves Healthy Hair Boost Up Color Drops, I added it to my 'Needed This, Like, Yesterday' list.Boost Up Color Drops can be used to extend salon hair colorings and keep color fresh – or to instantly brighten, darken or add warmth to your regular hair color. In addition to its color enhancing properties, the product also moisturizes, invigorates, and conditions and replenishes lost protein. The best part? One shampoo and it's back to the old you. "It's like cosmetics for your hair," Paves says.
Boost Up Color Drops are available in six shades: Beige, Black, Brown, Honey, Platinum and Red.
Get a .96 oz bottle for $39.95. Or purchase the Color Booster Explorer Kit from HSN (which includes a full-sized bottle of the Boost Up Color Drops plus shampoo, conditioner, shine serum and hair spray from Ken Paves' new Healthy Hair line) for the same price. This is a no-brainer.
Healthy Hair products are also sold at Henri Bendel. And sometime soon, you'll see this line popping up at Beauty.com, Macy's, Ulta, and fine salons near you!
Dishing On The Dish
Have you seen The Dish on The Style Network?Hosted by Danielle Fishel (aka Topanga from Boy Meets World), this show takes an irreverent look at the weekly mishaps and meltdowns of celebrity fashion and lifestyle.
If you’re a Spoiled Pretty regular, you’re gonna love this show. It’s like The Soup for the ladies.
The Dish is one of my new favorite guilty pleasures…along with VH1’s Glam God (hosted by tranny-esque Vivica A. Fox) and The Cho Show. Watch them while your man is in the other room, or out doing 'man' things.

Get In Shape Girl

Are rhythmic gymnastics Olympic sports anymore? I'm feeling too lazy to do the research. But if trampoline is a sport, someone needs to bust out some balls, hoola hoops and ribbons right quick.
As a child, I remember tirelessly training for the Olympics with my Get In Shape Girl equipment. And I know I wasn't the only one...

Kim Kardashian's Video Makeup Lesson: Part IV, Lashes and Lips!

I know that you Kim Kardashian fans have been anxiously waiting for the finale of her "Smokey Eye" video tutorial. Today, Kim and her makeup artist, Stephen Moleski, show us how to finish the look with lush lashes and kissable lips.
* Stephen recommends fake eyelashes with a clear base, because they're more pliable.
* Cut fake lashes to desired length.
* Apply Duo Surgical Adhesive to fake lash strip and let dry until adhesive gets tacky.
* While looking down, slip on lash strip - then press false lashes into your own so they blend.
* Kim uses MAC Select/Sheer Loose Powder in NC45 as a bronzer.
* Sweep a highlighting powder under the eye.
* Remove mascara wand from tube (Kim is partial to MAC Zoom Lash) and wipe excess with a tissue to prevent clumping. Then apply to lashes.
* Line lips with a liner that closely matches your natural lip color (Kim uses MAC Lip Pencil in Stripdown), then blend.
* Fill in lips with a pale lipstick, like MAC Lipstick in Angel.
* Top off those lovely lips with a gorgeous gloss, like Kim's fave, NARS Lip Gloss in Turkish Delight.
* Finally, sweep a little powder blush onto cheeks; Stephen uses MAC Pro Powder Blush in Shy and Cheek
