Style Me, Baby - Three More Times

By now, you've probably heard that Miss Spears will be performing at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. And considering the caliber of last year's performance, I think it's a good move...there's nowhere to go but up, right?

To redeem herself from last year's stringy, extension nightmare, Brit Brit is gonna get her hair did by Kim Vo. He recently revealed that the tabloid queen will sport not one...not two...but THREE different hairstyles at this year's awards show.

The red carpet look will feature cascades of S-curls, which were all over the place at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards. To achieve this style, section hair...and starting underneath, curl hair with a 3 barrel waver. Lightly spritz with flexible-hold hair spray to set the shape, then finger comb to break up the curls. With this hairstyle, Vo advises balancing the softness of the curls with a strong part.

For the second look, Britney will sport a sophisticated, low side pony with side-swept bangs. Kinda like beauty diva, Kim K (left).

The third look, for Brit's performance, is under lock and key.

Vo teases that we'll have to wait until the VMAs on September 7 for the hairstyle secret to be revealed.

Deep Condition Like The Dutchess

How does Fergie keep her tresses in top form while on tour? Kim Vo says olive oil is the key.

To deep condition like The Dutchess, spray your strands, from root to tip, with Pam Olive Oil Cooking Spray. Cover your hair with a plastic shower cap, chill for 30 minutes, then shampoo out.

Fergalicious.

Kim Vo's New Haircare Line

Kim Vo’s new haircare line mixes old school with new school. The celebrity hairstylist’s products marry Vietnamese botanicals and French Nanotechnology.

As a child, Vo used to watch his Vietnamese grandmother wash her hair with rice wine to make it shine. So when he set out to create his line of hair products, naturally, he asked her to consult. The ingredients in Vo’s line include rice, soy, lotus, and seaweed. But the line’s secret weapon is Boket, known for thousands of years in Vietnam as the secret to beautiful, healthy hair. Boket pods have a high sugar content – which locks in moisture and nutrients, and results in a silky, shiny hair.

ME-10, created by the latest French nanotechnology, is the second main active ingredient in the line. The scientifically advanced silicone conditions dry, damaged locks. It also extends and enhances hair color because it penetrates the cuticle on a cellular level.

The Kim Vo product line includes: Moisturizing Shampoo, Moisturizing Conditioner, Moisturizing Masque, Volumizing Shampoo, Volumizing Conditioner, Volumizing Masque, Styling Crème, Dry Serum, Glaze, Root Booster, Weightless Hairspray, and Texturizing Paste.

Kim Vo: Smilin' And Hairstylin'

I so enjoy when Kim Vo makes an appearance on The Daily 10 on E! He’s forever smiling, and always has some easy-to-follow hair care tips to share. Last night, Vo said the unthinkable. He insisted that women with fine hair should only wash their hair every 2-3 days; and thick-tressed ladies should go a week between shampoos. Quel horror!

He explained that shampooing strips the hair of its natural oils – which leads to dryness, damage, and one bad hair day followed by another. For fine, straight hair, the oils take a shorter time to travel from the scalp to the ends - which is why he recommends shampooing more frequently than those with thick hair.

Think infrequent shampooing is nasty and unhygienic? Think again, because it’s the secret behind some of Hollywood’s hottest hair. Julia Roberts was once quoted as saying, "My hair doesn't get greasy very fast, so I can go a good ten days without washing it."

In between shampoos, Vo recommends two ways to get rid of the greasies. First, fine-haired females can lightly mist their hair with an aerosol spray; because the alcohol is a little drying, it will sop up some of the excess oil.

And all ladies, regardless of hair type, can benefit from a light application of face powder. Match the powder to your scalp...just part hair and apply with a kabuki brush (I heart this one by Starlet Cosmetics).

And when you do get around to washing your hair, shampoo twice. The first time removes build-up, while the second go-round actually cleanses the hair and scalp. When it comes time to condition, take a cue from your hair type. For fine hair, apply conditioner just on the ends – and for thick hair, apply all over.
