Charlize Theron Joins Tom Cruise in The Tourist

Actress Charlize Theron has been cast alongside of Tom Cruise in action thriller The Tourist from SpyglassEntertainment. The film is a remake of the 2005 French filmAnthony Zimmer, titled and is being directed by Bharat Nalluri(Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day of bridge recently.) Theron willplay an Interpol agent who uses an American tourist in anattempt to flush out an elusive criminal with whom she once had an affair. The Twist Is That the criminal is the same man as thetourist, if it indeed follows the same plot as the original. Thisversion of the script was first written by Julian Fellowes, ofGosford Park and Vanity Fair, and is currently being polishedby Christopher McQuarrie, of Usual Suspects and Valkyrie.
