Spending summers with her grandmother in the city of Hyderabad, Shobha Tummala learned the secrets of Indian beauty, including ancient methods used for hair removal. "My grandmother made all my beauty products herself," says Tummala. "Hair conditioner was created from crushed hibiscus petals picked from a tree in our backyard; soap from a mixture of shaved sandalwood and lentils. Moisturizer was just the cream from fresh milk."
After graduating from Harvard Business School and working at a variety of businesses, Tummala founded three luxury New York City salons. The menu of services includes facials, threading, sugaring, waxing and henna.
The Shobha product line is a natural, pun intended, extension of the salons – putting a modern spin on India's centuries-old beauty and well-being philosophies.
This week, Spoiled Pretty has partnered with Shobha for a giveaway! Three lucky winners will receive:
* My First Brazilian Kit: This three-step kit provides Shobha essentials for maintaining the bikini area after hair removal, to ensure optimal upkeep for all those who bikini wax. Includes hydrocortisone cream, Exfoliating Cloth, and Freshening Cloths.
* Ingrown Relief Lotion: Shobha’s newest product is a one-step solution for hair removal aftercare that treats and prevents ingrowns without being harsh or drying. The fast-absorbing lotion is free of parabens, color, and artificial fragrance. Glycolic acid exfoliates by removing dead skin, which can clog hair follicles and re-direct hair growth inward; Vitamin A improves skin tone and texture; Tea Tree Oil protects by naturally fighting off irritation; Glycerin keeps skin soft and hydrated; and Chamomile soothes and eliminates the tell-tale signs of post-hair removal sensitivity.
To enter, send an email to spoiledprettycontests@gmail.com. Be sure to include your full name. The subject line should read "Shobha Giveaway." The contest ends at midnight (EST) on Tuesday, August 12th. Three winners will be chosen at random from among the entrants. On Wednesday, August 13th, I'll announce the winners' names. Please, only one entry per person; duplicate entries will not increase your chances of winning. Contest is open to U.S. and Canadian residents only.
Good luck!
