Did You Miss Me?

Sorry I've been away so long. It pains me that I have neglected my baby, Spoiled Pretty, for so long. But as many of you know, I have a new baby that I'm preparing for. And his due date is approaching more quickly than I could have anticipated, so I've got a lot on my plate right now.

I'm going to do my best to keep this blog up to date. But if I fall off the writing wagon for a few days, try not to hold it against me...and stop back in a day or two for more reviews, news and giveaways.

Nailing It: OPI Funky Dunkey

I don't know what it is. But no matter how hot my nails are looking, I always have nail envy...especially when it comes to my colleague/next door office neighbor, Angela. Every other week, she shows up wearing some super hot color that gives my mani an inferiority complex.

Right now, I'm totally crushing on this grape shade (crushing - get it?) - from OPI's Shrek collection.

Wall Letters For My Son's Nursery

Not at all beauty related, but...

A few weeks ago, I ordered custom hanging wall letters for my son's nursery. They just came in the mail, and I can't get over how amazing they turned out! I bought them from Jarrett Creations on Etsy and they personalized them based on my color preferences, animal preferences (West's room is jungle/safari themed) and the design of my crib bedding set (I sent them a link to a picture).

If you have a little one (or one on the way) and you're in the market for wall letters, I highly recommend Jarrett Creations. Even personalized, each letter only cost $7. Great product, wonderful customer service and excellent price!

Okay, back to your regularly-scheduled beauty programming...

Lindsay Lohan's Profane Nail Polish Shows Contempt for Court

A judge may have sentenced Lindsay Lohan to 90 days in jail followed by a 90 day stint in rehab, but it was the wild child - or rather her manicure - that had the last word(s).

What do you think of LiLo giving the judge the middle finger, on the down low? Should the court hold Lindsay, and her profane polish, in contempt? Or should they just be thankful her crazy ass actually showed up this time?

Forever 21 Launches A Maternity Line

Well, it just figures. Now that I'm just about ready to pop, Forever 21 launches Love 21 Maternity. The small collection includes tanks, tunics, leggings, jeans and handbags - all for under $20. I'm tempted to add a few pieces to my mama-to-be wardrobe...but at this stage of the game, I fear I might go into labor before my order shows up on my doorstep.

Right now, Love 21 Maternity is only available at select Forever 21 stores in Alaska, California, Texas and Utah (kinda random, right?) and online at forever21.com/love21maternity.

Lancôme Définicils Precious Cells Mascara Giveaway!!!

Lancôme's latest mascara, Définicils Precious Cells, is now available exclusively at Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com. Définicils Precious Cells is the first mascara from Lancôme to regenerate the condition of lashes, all while delivering definition with lash by lash fullness. Lancôme’s newest ambassadress Julia Roberts is the face of the new mascara.

Définicils Precious Cells Mascara contains the nourishing apple lysate ingredient found in Lancôme's Absolue Precious Cells skincare collection, and boasts an entirely new creamy texture. Just as with the original best-selling Définicils, this formula not only defines lashes beautifully, but also creates a fuller lash look. A blend of five, triple-coated waxes delivers lash fullness from the lash root to tip. Additionally, the new Définicils Precious Cells Mascara formula glides on smoothly while enveloping lashes with conditioning agents. It’s also super-easy to remove, reducing the chance of lash loss.

It wouldn’t be a Lancôme mascara without an innovative, performance-driven brush and Définicils Precious Cells Mascara is no exception. The new multi-faceted brush was specifically developed to work with the creamier formula. The short bristles help deposit the formula in between the lashes, while the flexible, longer bristles allow for a clean application. In combination, the formula and brush deliver optimal lash by lash fullness.

Définicils Precious Cells Mascara is $29 and, as I mentioned before, is now exclusively available at Nordstrom. In August, you can find it at Lancôme counters nationwide and on lancome-usa.com.

But this week, you can score a tube for FREE! Yup…that's right. Lancôme is sending me a sample to try (I wonder how it compares to my favorite lash lengthener of all time, Lancôme Hypnose Drama) and another mascara to give away!!!

Enter to win by leaving a message in the comments section. Make sure to leave your email or another way for me to get in touch, just in case you're the lucky pretty woman!

Contest is open to U.S. and Canadian residents. The giveaway ends at noon (EST) on Friday, July 9, 2010. Good luck!

HomeGoods, How Do I Love Thee?

HomeGoods, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways…

Since being introduced by my mom a few years ago, HomeGoods and I have grown quite close. HomeGoods has become one of my favorite retail destinations – especially since moving into my new house (movin' on up, Jeffersons style). Every room in my new abode has somehow been touched by HomeGoods – from the baskets I bought to organize my arsenal of beauty products to the artwork in my bathroom to the jungle-themed growth chart and bookends I bought for Westley's nursery.

Besides furniture and decorative home accents, Home Goods has some wonderful bath and body products. My favorites are from CST (Commonwealth Soap & Toiletries), a Massachusetts-based company that develops products for HomeGoods and its sisters, Marshalls and TJ Maxx. I've been crushing on this company for years, thanks to their high quality/reasonably priced beauty products. I've blogged about them before, but I recently discovered something new that warrants another mention.

A few weeks ago, my mom threw me a fabulous baby shower. We played some fun games, and one of the prizes was this soap set my mom found at HomeGoods. The soaps smelled so divine, I felt greedy for coveting a set of my own…especially considering the generous gifts my guests had given me. After the party ended and everyone went home, I was chatting with my mom about the soaps, and she admitted she kept a set for herself. Now, I was super jeal.

But I must have good kharma because, last weekend, Mom and I went to a random HomeGoods in New Jersey and found a set of the soaps. AND they were marked down to $3.50!

So if you're in a HomeGoods, TJ Maxx or Marshalls anytime soon, look for a round box of soaps that looks like the one pictured above. Though it's difficult to accurately describe the scent (I've never been great at that), I would say that it has a subtle, floral/powdery, feminine fragrance. Go get you some. You'll thank me later.
